I guess I'm not sure where I've been but I came across the oddest cat while reading the "Dachshund news" on a website I frequent.  It's a feline form of the doxie (sort of)  called a Munchkin cat?   Only been around since the early 90's?  They are supposed to be extremely easygoing and a great cat....  anyone meet one in person??? Cute little things!!  Maybe I should look into one LOL, she'd fit in with the clan around here! Smiley

just ppl playing with mother nature again.  I really disagree with these cats.  What possible purpose does creatinga  cat with a genetic defect have?  Other than to make a buck, and create cats with some cool back issues.

my understanding about munchkins is that they are a natural spontaneous mutation.
this is pretty common in cats to have spontaneous mutations.... I dont as I recall believe this was a man made breeding for shorter and shorter legs......

similar to my ragdoll..... started as a natural mutation in some barn cats and sphynx as well....

alot of cat breeds are still in developement..... they still allow outcrossing to cement traits.....
I know that it is acceptable to breed ragdolls with persians and still register as ragdolls..... seems to me a bit like the olden days of dog developement.
