Wife has a pair of mated Parrolets. When she went out of town a few weeks ago the female plucked out her chest feathers. Have you ever had this happen. Vet says she's OK and that the feathers may return.

Hey Joe! Congrats on the pair getting ready to nest! You won't BELIEVE how small the hatchlings are......

It's common for the hen to pull out the chest feathers when preparing to nest. They will sometimes use the feathers in the box. She should stop when they have eggs, and then the feathers will begin to grow back. She'll just look a little ratty for a while.
