If only people could be as friendly as dogs are!

« on: November 09, 2007, 06:46:29 PM »

We have only 1 little guy named Bailey!  He's a rescue plmeranian under a year old.  My husband and I are over the road 48 states truck drivers.  We both LOVE dogs and have fallen head over heels for our little guy.  He goes everywhere with us and has new adventures everytime he gets out of the truck basically!  But he seems to love it.  We are just busy soaking up tons of information on the "how too's" with this little guy.  I think then we will see about getting a 2nd one.  Nice to meet you all!

HOw awesome for your little guy-he gets to see the world with you.  Do your husband and you drive together?  My cousin drives truck and I keep encouraging him to get a dog.  Poms are sooooo sweet.  We camp alot and it seems a lot of the campground owners have Poms.  They love to lay on the counter and let everyone pet them.  Glad to have you with us.  Head on over to the 'Everything Dog' board or the 'Non Dog Board' and help us stir up some trouble....beau just loves it when we get trouble going Undecided  We love pics!

Welcome and nice to meet you!
I bet you get to see a lot of country being on the road!
So how does he like being on the road? Does he have his own little bed? My little pug just loves sleeping in his bed all the time.
Feel free to jump right in, and welcome!

Yes, Bailey seems to love traveling around.  At first, he was kinda shy and timid but those days are long gone.  He's a real lady's man now.  He loves all the women who come up to him and say aaawwweee, what a cute little dog and then pet him.  However, if something does spook him a bit, he runs right to dad!

Yes, he has his own bed, however, he prefers ours to his, imagine that!   Roll Eyes  He also has a car seat which hooks up to the back of the passengers seat and sits him up high so he can see out.  He enjoys that also.  He has discovered little lizards, gofers, squirrels, and all sorts of interesting potential play mates being on the road.

I have tried to get him used to little shoe boots as winter is coming.  He wants NOTHING to do with those.  Maybe he will change his mind when he sees snow for the first time!  It's hard sometimes to get a shirt on him!

Yes, both my husband and I drive as a team.  We usually drive about 7 to 8 thousand miles a week unless we take off a couple days or so.  But we always have a good time and always make time for some fun things to do along the way.  I am still trying to figure out all the features on here.  May take me some time to figure out how to post pics and even reply.  lol  But practice makes perfect as they say!

It sure sounds like a fun life for you and your little dog!
We tried the little booties for our pug and he too wanted nothing of them. They are now sitting in a tub somewhere. He does have little shirts and sweaters around here, but doesn't wear them that often.
I see you figured out how to reply. The trick is, you MUST be logged in, or you will not see a reply button as an option. (I notice this when I am at work and checking in on the boards and don't take the time to log in) We made it mandatory to register due to the amount of spammers that tried to get on the boards and interfere with us..
Just let us know if you have any questions and we'll help you out with whatever we can.

Mr Kai's breeder does that now that she has retired. She and her significant other sold their places, bought a nice motor home, and travel the country going to dog shows. The tend to settle in one place for part of the year (west coast), then travel across towards the time of the pug nationals. It sure sounds like a fun way to see the sights!

Hi Welcome to the board! If you stick around long enough to get to know the gang, you won't leave.. fun bunch here.  Poms are beautiful dogs!

I have a black and tan mini dachshund and a cream colored rescue 'cockapoo' here.  (Cocker and poodle mix basically.)  Grin

Ok, let me try this again!  Nice to meet you too!  Your pups sound absolutely adoreable.  Do you breed or am I misunderstanding the "due date" message on the bottom of your post?

Yes, I plan on sticking around.  From what I have been able to see so far this sounds like a fun board to be a part of.  I just haven't had the time or the roads have been so bumpy that I can't read anything to check out all the things one can do here!  I went to post this the 1st time and my air card came loose! lol.  Oh well, maybe my husband will find some smoother roads when he gets out of the mountains!

Nope, nope, nope... I don't breed.  This would be my first and last litter.  (Unless I get very involved in dachshund conformation, etc somewhere in retirement or something! Guess you can't predict the future, but Zoeys last for sure.)  Grin

Long story, to better explain, I'd have to direct ya to the 'Everything Dogs' board posts here:

http://acmechats.com/Forums/index.php?topic=1052.0

http://acmechats.com/Forums/index.php?topic=1045.0  (long, but I write a lot/ramble a lot when I am worried.)

There's usually a lot of conversation going on under 'Everything Dogs.'
